What you agree to in the KYN public beta

Know Your Neighbor helps you demonstrate a narrow qualification with accountable support from people who know the relevant fact—without giving the campaign your identity evidence or relationship graph.

Before enrolling, understand these five points:

1. You participate with a pseudonymous browser key. KYN does not require your legal name, email, social login, exact address, government ID, or SSN for ordinary enrollment.
2. You control recovery. Save the recovery code separately. Losing both your key and recovery code may permanently end your ability to control this pseudonymous account.
3. Claims are narrow and labeled. Every claim shows its exact definition, verification basis, allowed use, and expiration. Beta credentials are not government ID, official voter registration, or statutory proof.
4. Trust can be checked and corrected. Limited, expiring authority; independent paths; audits; challenges; appeals; revocation; and dependency recalculation are part of the process. Popularity and donations do not create authority.
5. This is a real public beta on provisional infrastructure. It may pause or lose data. Sensitive-evidence collection, binding polls, and determining polls are not enabled.

The requested consent purposes are:

• kyn_claim_processing: process versioned claim requests, attestations, checks, challenges, credentials, and status changes; and
• kyn_recovery: store a one-way recovery commitment and process an accountable key-recovery request.

You may request export, correction/invalidation, consent withdrawal, or deletion. Withdrawal and deletion invalidate future dependent trust; they do not silently erase public-safe receipts needed to explain past decisions.
