Know Your Neighbor public-beta terms

These terms govern the Know Your Neighbor (KYN) public beta operated by Five Letter Agency as part of The Party Party. KYN is a prototype that may be used by legally separate relying parties, including the Korey Streich Campaign Committee / AI for Wisconsin. Using KYN does not make a person a campaign donor, volunteer, employee, or voter.

What KYN is for

KYN lets a person use a pseudonymous key and narrowly scoped neighbor attestations to demonstrate a defined qualification. Every live claim definition must state what is being claimed, which verification basis applies, when it expires, and what the result may be used for.

The initial beta is nonbinding. A KYN credential is not government identification, official voter registration, proof of statutory eligibility, or a substitute for a government or campaign filing. No binding or determining poll is authorized by this release.

Participation and keys

Ordinary enrollment does not require a legal name, email address, social login, exact home address, government ID, or identity-evidence upload. Your browser creates and holds a pseudonymous participant key. Anyone controlling that key can act as that participant. Keep the device and recovery code secure.

Losing both the participant key and recovery code can make the account permanently unrecoverable. Recovery requests require a new key, the recovery code, and an accountable operator decision; recovery does not reveal or recreate the old key.

Neighbor attestations and authority

An attestation means only that an authorized person vouches for the exact versioned claim and verification basis shown to them. It is not a general endorsement. A verifier's authority is voluntary, limited, expiring, capped, auditable, and revocable. Popularity, donations, patronage, or general activity do not create KYN authority.

Do not knowingly make a false attestation, coordinate sham independence paths, impersonate another participant, submit another person's private information, evade an audit, or interfere with a challenge. KYN may suspend or invalidate related authority, attestations, and credentials when a dependency fails or a rule is violated.

Privacy and acceptable use

Do not submit Social Security numbers, government-ID images, financial-account details, medical records, precise location histories, or other sensitive evidence. Sensitive-evidence collection is disabled in this release. The separate versioned privacy notice explains what the beta does process and retain.

Do not use KYN to harass, discriminate against, dox, threaten, surveil, or build a general social score about another person. Public receipts are deliberately limited and do not expose private graph edges or private evidence.

Beta availability and changes

This beta runs on provisional infrastructure with a disclosed risk of interruption or data loss. It may be paused to protect participants, correct defects, respond to an incident, or replace storage. No uninterrupted availability is promised.

Material changes require a new version. A later version does not silently replace the terms you accepted; renewed consent is required when the active notice version changes. Public receipts and necessary pseudonymous decision records may remain so past actions can be explained, even when future authority is withdrawn or data is cryptographically unlinked.
